The USB 3.0 Hard Drive Enclosure with UASP, model S2510BPU33, allows you to connect a 2.5 “SATA III Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or SSD (Solid State) drive through an available USB port. The enclosure offers a optimal performance with a USB 3.0 connection, and additionally is backward compatible with USB 2.0 / 1.1 host connections.
Enhanced with UASP (USB Connected SCSI Protocol), this 2.5-inch SATA III enclosure performs up to 70% faster than conventional USB 3.0 connections, when paired with an available UASP-enabled host controller. Since UASP is a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT (“Bulk-Only Transport”) protocol, latency is reduced, which significantly increases transfer speeds.
With support for SATA I / II / III and large capacity drives (tested up to 1TB), this HDD cage is compatible with almost any 2.5 “SATA HDD, offering a significant increase in the storage / backup capabilities of the computer.
For added portability, the USB 3.0 / SATA III enclosure includes tool-less HDD installation and does not require an external power cable.
