Stewart Audio FLX-E-160-2-LZ – 2-Channel DSP-Enabled Amplifier
The Stewart Audio FLX-E-160-2-LZ is a professional 2-channel Class D DSP-enabled amplifier designed for commercial, professional audio, and installed sound applications. It delivers 160W RMS per channel into 4Ω or 8Ω loads and combines amplification with a powerful integrated DSP platform for signal routing, EQ, filtering, limiting, and mixing.
With Ethernet configuration and control, along with RS-232 and 0–10V remote volume control, the FLX-E-160-2-LZ provides flexible integration options for demanding AV installations. The standard model is not Dante™ networked; a Dante-enabled variant is available separately.

Integrated DSP
The built-in DSP allows the amplifier to handle a wide range of audio-processing requirements without requiring separate external DSP equipment.
DSP capabilities include:
- Cross-point mixing
- Signal routing
- Pre-mix level control
- Equalization
- Audio filtering
- Limiting
- Zone and source management
- System optimization
This makes the FLX-E-160-2-LZ particularly useful for installations where different audio sources and loudspeaker zones require customized processing.
Flexible Control & Configuration
The amplifier provides several control and configuration methods:
- Ethernet for configuration, control, and reporting
- RS-232 for integration with AV control systems
- 0–10VDC Remote Volume Control
- USB/DSP configuration capabilities through the amplifier’s control ecosystem
Ethernet connectivity is especially useful for larger installations where multiple amplifiers need to be configured and managed consistently.
Professional Audio Performance
With 160W RMS per channel and support for both 4Ω and 8Ω speaker loads, the FLX-E-160-2-LZ provides flexible power for conventional low-impedance loudspeaker systems.
Its <0.05% THD+N and >95dB signal-to-noise ratio help provide clean and detailed audio reproduction for professional installations.
Dante™ / AES67 Support
The FLX-E-160-2-LZ supports optional Dante™ / AES67 network audio. The standard FLX-E-160-2-LZ is not Dante-networked, while the network-enabled variant is designated FLX-E-160-2-LZ-D.
This allows system designers to select the appropriate version based on whether networked audio distribution is required.
Fanless Cooling
The amplifier uses convection cooling with no fan, reducing mechanical noise and maintenance requirements. This makes it suitable for environments where quiet operation is important, including:
- Conference rooms
- Meeting rooms
- Classrooms
- Corporate offices
- Boardrooms
- Houses of worship
- Commercial AV spaces
