USB 3.0 Enclosure with UASP and eSATA for Hard Drives with 2 SATA III Hot-Swap Bays 3.5 Inch Trayless
The 2-bay RAID cage, model S352BU33RER, allows you to create an external RAID array with two 3.5 “SATA hard drives, and connects to your computer via USB 3.0 or eSATA.
For fast performance and efficient data transfers, the box supports SATA III transfer speeds (up to 6 Gbps), when connected via eSATA. The versatile RAID cage can also be connected via the USB 3.0 port, and is UASP compliant, performing 70% better than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with a UASP compliant host controller. This external RAID enclosure includes a RAID controller, supporting JBOD, Spanning, RAID 0 and RAID 1, for increased drive capacity and secure data redundancy. Also, the RAID controller is installed on the front face for easy access when changing RAID mode.
To easily install and remove a disk drive, the dual-bay cage has a convenient trayless system that eliminates the need to insert and secure disk drives, saving time and hassle.
To ensure compatibility with the computer system, the S352BU33RER supports all major operating systems, including: Microsoft Windows® (8/7 / Vista / XP / Server 2008 / Server 2003), Apple® OSX (10.9 / 10.8 / 10.7 / 10.6 ), Linux and Google Chrome OS ™.
Improved performance with UASP
UASP support on Windows 8, Mac OSX (10.8 or higher) and Linux. In tests, UASP performed with 70% faster read speed and 40% faster write speed, in contrast to the peak performance of conventional USB 3.0.
At the same full performance capabilities, UASP tests also show an 80% reduction in required processor resources.
Test results were obtained using an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, a StarTech.com box with available UASP, as well as a SATA III Solid State Drive (SSD).
