PCI Express PCI-E 2 Ports USB 3.0 Controller Card Adapter with Molex Power and UASP

The 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI Express Card, model PEXUSB3S25, allows you to add two USB 3.0 ports to any system with an available PCI Express slot, while also including an optional LP4 power connector, offering up to 900 mA of power per port to USB 3.0 bus-powered devices (500 mA, in the case of USB 2.0) that you connect.

Enhanced with support for UASP (USB Connection SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller performs 70% better than conventional USB 3.0 standard when connected to External Drive Enclosures (Note: UASP is not supported on all operating systems). By using a more efficient protocol than traditional USB BOT (“Bulk-Only Transport”), UASP technology optimizes data transfer by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, greatly increasing communication speeds. connection for less waiting time in data transmission. For more details, see the UASP test results below.

The PCIe USB 3.0 adapter complies with the USB 3.0 standard, with data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps, while offering backward compatibility with existing USB 2.0 / 1.1 devices. For added versatility, this controller card is equipped with a standard profile bracket and includes a low profile / half height bracket that allows it to be installed in compact size computers.

Backed by a StarTech.com 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Improved performance with UASP
UASP is compatible with Windows® 8, Server 2012 and Linux kernel 2.6.3 or higher. In tests, UASP performed with up to 70% faster read speed and 40% faster write speed, compared to the maximum performance of the conventional USB 3.0 standard.

At the same peak during the tests carried out, UASP also showed up to an 80% reduction in the use of system resources.

Test results were obtained using an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, StarTech.com USB 3.0 expansion cards, a StarTech.com box with available UASP, and a SATA III solid state drive.
