Mini PCI Express PCI-E 2 Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Adapter Card with UASP – with Bracket Set

The Mini PCI Express USB 3.0 card with 2 ports and bracket kit, model MPEXUSB3S22B, allows you to add two external USB 3.0 ports to compact-size systems, in order to connect different peripherals. This card also includes optional standard-profile and low-profile brackets to fit a rear expansion bay if necessary.

The Mini PCIe USB 3.0 card fully supports the USB SuperSpeed specification, with fast transfer speeds (up to 5 Gbps), as well as 900 mA of power per port, making it a useful add-on for connecting USB 3.0 peripheral devices.

Enhanced with support for UASP (USB Connected SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller performs 70% better than conventional USB 3.0 when connected to External Drive Enclosures (Note: UASP requires a supported operating system). Since it uses a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT (“Bulk-Only Transport”) protocol, UASP technology optimizes transfers by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing speeds. transfer for less waiting time in data transfers. For more details, see the UASP test results below.

Due to its Mini PCI Express format (mini card) and its compatibility with PCI Express Gen 2, this adapter card is designed to allow it to be used in the latest compact-size computer systems, such as Mini ITX or integrated custom solutions that do not I would attach a standard PCIe card.

Improved performance with UASP
UASP is compatible with Windows® 8, Server 2012 and Linux kernel 2.6.3 or higher. In tests, UASP performed with up to 70% faster read speed and 40% faster write speed, compared to the maximum performance of conventional USB 3.0.

At the same peak performance, UASP tests also showed up to an 80% reduction in required processor resources.

Test results were obtained using an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, StarTech.com USB 3.0 expansion cards, a StarTech.com box with available UASP, and a SATA III solid state drive.

Applications
For system builders developing a small form factor HTPC with external storage or other USB 3.0 peripherals
Two additional connections for USB 3.0 devices with a custom or mini ITX embedded system, with no space for a standard PCI Express card
Ideal for connecting USB 3.0 external storage devices for fast backup or files.
