The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, model MDP2HD4KSW, allows you to connect devices such as the MacBook® Pro and MacBook® Air or any Microsoft® Surface ™ Pro equipped with Mini DisplayPort, to an HDMI display. This adapter supports Mini DisplayPort 1.2 and 30K HDMI at 30Hz; therefore, it supports video resolutions up to Ultra HD (4K), as well as the corresponding digital audio up to 7.1 channel surround sound quality.
Compatible with Ultra HD (4K), the mDP to HDMI adapter guarantees the conversion of Mini DisplayPort to HDMI and, at the same time, maintains an amazing image quality four times higher than the 1080p high definition resolution. The adapter is also backwards compatible with earlier versions of DisplayPort (1.0 / 1.1) and supports resolutions up to 1080p.
For easy setup, the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is installed using the simple plug-and-play system, which requires no additional software or drivers. In addition, its design that requires little space and light weight increases its portability.
To ensure compatibility with any Mini DisplayPort output, the mDP adapter offers active conversion. Active video conversion is required to maintain 4K resolutions when converting Mini DisplayPort to HDMI. An active mDP adapter is also ideal as a 1080p video resolution output, as it ensures support for graphics cards that do not support multimode DP ++ signal outputs (for example, ATI Eyefinity).
For ease of compatibility with your Mac®, the HDMI converter supports Intel® Thunderbolt ™ devices that send a DisplayPort video output signal.
