The ECUSB3S254F 2-Port USB 3.0 Flush Mount ExpressCard Adapter Card lets you add two USB 3.0 ports to an ExpressCard-equipped notebook PC.
The USB 3.0 card has a unique design that allows it to be inserted flush into a 54mm ExpressCard slot in a laptop, making it an expansion plug-in that can be left installed even when carrying the computer around, without having to worry about possible damage or shock to the card or the ExpressCard slot.
Enhanced with support for UASP (USB Connected SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller performs 70% better than conventional USB 3.0 when paired with an External Drive Enclosures (Note: UASP requires a supported operating system). Since it uses a more efficient protocol than the traditional USB BOT (“Bulk-Only Transport”) protocol, UASP technology optimizes transfers by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing speeds. transfer for less waiting time in data transfers. For more details, see the UASP test results below.
The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 card supports data transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps, and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 (at up to 480 Mbps), or USB 1.1 / 1.0 at up to 1.5 / 1.2 Mbps, respectively – perfect accessory for the laptops of users who want to connect both current and previous generation USB devices.
Backed by a StarTech.com 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support.
Improved performance with UASP
Supports UASP on Windows® 8 and Server 2012. In tests, UASP performed with up to 70% faster read speed and 40% faster write speed, compared to maximum USB performance 3.0 conventional.

Test results were obtained using an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, StarTech.com USB 3.0 expansion cards, a StarTech.com box with available UASP, and a SATA III solid state drive.
Ideal for users who, although they require USB connectivity, do not need to exchange between other ExpressCard adapters, being able to leave the card installed in the slot.
Mobile users who want to leave ExpressCard adapters installed, without risk of damaging the card or slot while on the move
Allows you to externally connect high-performance USB 3.0 storage devices to a laptop.
