To really take advantage of dual monitor connectivity, a 10 Gb / s USB-C device is a must. THE JUST NUMBER OF PORTS
Unlike cheap USB-C hubs on the market, the CalDigit USB-C SOHO dock has been designed to have just the right number of ports so as not to exceed the power output of your laptop’s USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 port. can provide.
It is of the utmost importance to CalDigit, that when all ports are used at the same time, there are no power issues. Cheap USB-C hubs with an excessive number of ports will exceed the power provided by the laptop port when bus-powered, which could cause power issues.
LAPTOP CHARGING PASS-THROUGH¹
The beauty of USB-C is that it incorporates a power delivery of up to 100W in its design. This means that when you connect your laptop’s USB-C charger to the SOHO Dock, it will power the SOHO Dock and your connected USB devices, in addition to charging your laptop.
The actual power that will be supplied to your laptop will vary depending on the power of your USB-C charger and the number of USB devices connected to the SOHO dock.
This transfer charging functionality is not just limited to laptops, as the SOHO Dock will also charge iPad Pro, Windows tablets, and USB-C smartphones.

Unlike many USB-C devices on the market that require drivers to connect dual displays, SOHO Dock works out of the box on macOS and Windows, without the stress of installing drivers.
MAXIMUM SPEED 10Gb / s DATA PORT
Anyone who has used a traditional USB-C Gen.1 hub will know that USB ports offer limited performance capabilities. The front USB-C data port of the USB-C SOHO Dock offers full 10Gb / s throughput, twice that of traditional hubs.
This means that for any user looking to connect high-performance SSD storage devices, the SOHO USB-C dock will offer much faster speeds.
EVOLVE YOUR TABLET
Not only can you use the USB-C SOHO Dock on a traditional computer, you can also use it with an iPad Pro, iPad Air (4th generation), or Windows tablet. This allows users to connect a single 4K monitor * and all the various devices offered by the SOHO USB-C dock.
* IPad Pro, iPad Air (4th generation) and Windows tablets do not currently support dual monitors.
REMOVABLE CABLE
CalDigit deliberately added a detachable cable to the USB-C SOHO Dock as it gives customers more flexibility. By using a detachable cable, users can add longer cables and if the cables are damaged they can be easily replaced. Docks or hubs with tied cables cannot replace your cables and tend to generate more heat.
DOUBLE SD CARD READERS
Dual SD 4.0 and microSD 4.0 card readers support UHS-II speeds that will significantly improve file transfer speeds.
