Sipeed M1/M1W AIoT Module
The Sipeed M1/M1W is an AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) module built around the Canaan Kendryte K210 edge AI processor based on the RISC-V architecture. The K210 integrates a 64-bit dual-core high-performance, low-power processor, with each core featuring a Floating Point Unit (FPU) for efficient mathematical computations.
The processor also includes a Convolutional Neural Network Processor (KPU) for AI acceleration, a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) accelerator for signal processing, and a Field Programmable IO Array (FPIOA) that enables flexible peripheral configuration. The module supports a variety of mainstream AI development frameworks, making it suitable for computer vision, machine learning, and edge AI applications.
The M1W version features an onboard ESP8285 Wi-Fi chip supporting the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n wireless standard, enabling seamless wireless networking and IoT connectivity.

M1 vs. M1W
To support a wider range of embedded AI applications, Sipeed offers both M1 and M1W modules.
- M1W includes an onboard ESP8285 Wi-Fi module for wireless networking.
- M1 does not include Wi-Fi but offers the same AI processing capabilities.
Both modules share the same hardware architecture, software environment, and AI performance. The only functional difference is the integrated Wi-Fi capability available on the M1W.
