When using the external eSATA port, the external eSATA port is Port Multiplier Ready. If your external device is Port Multiplier Ready, the card eSATA port can talk to your external eSATA enclosure with multiple drives using Port Multiplier Function (PMF). With both eSATA Port Multiplier Function, you can connect a total of 8 devices (4 devices per one eSATA PMF).
